The Step Up Club: On Returning to Work
By Phanella Mayall Fine and Alice Olins, 22nd September 2016Do, Features Step Up Club founders Phanella Mayall Fine and Alice Olins advise on returning to work after taking a career break to have kids
The chances of getting bored at this children’s festival are – we hazard – nil. This is Geronimo’s debut year, aimed at children from 2 – 12 years old, and there are no gaps in the schedule. Taking place at Tatton Park in Cheshire, the scope the landscape offers is vital: there are hundreds of things to do. The Adrenaline Zone has zip-wires and tree climbing; there’s an Alice in Wonderland area for storytelling and picnicking with the White Rabbit and Mad Hatter; craft sections will have non-stop making; there’s a circus, plus circus skills workshops… and that’s only for starters. Expect to see CBeebies stars (including Mr Bloom), plenty of dancing (baby ballet and discoing are the order of the day), and absolutely no lethargy from your offspring.
23 – 25 May (bank holiday). Early bird tickets start at £16 per person; family passes from £75. www.geronimofest.com
