Bombsheller is an apparel shop with a difference. It makes just one product: spandex leggings – but not just any spandex leggings. Based in Seattle and shipping across the world, Bombsheller is an online store offering fully customisable and sustainably-produced leggings, using 3D printing technology for clothing that fits your exact body-shape, in the exact design you want.
Launched two months ago and co-founded by Pablo Holman, an inventor with a background in the high-tech industry, the company is a forerunner in a new age of personalised fashion. Putting the consumer at the heart of the experience, Bombsheller invites you to create your own design, if you want to. If you don’t, simply choose from an extensive back-catalogue of looks uploaded from artists around the world.
If you do want to create your own look from scratch, you’ll be invited to upload Adobe Illustrator. Once you start designing, a 3D rendering of your leggings – set to fit your exact body dimensions – will demonstrate exactly how and where your images will sit on your body.
Once you’ve completed your design, simply set the amount you’d like to charge others to use it after you – and then wait to receive royalties every time your piece sells. The basic cost of a pair of leggings is $59 and the average cost with design is $80, with the artist receiving everything over $69 on every sale of their print.
