Introducing DIRTY MONEY: announcement in The Bookseller
By Staff, 13th February 2024Features The first quotes are in for my new Farrow & Chang series, publishing with Baskerville in early 2025
The third beautiful book by Japanese author Shinsuke Yoshitake, and it’s as magical and creative as you would hope. If this is your first introduction to his philosophical rendering of wildly imaginative ideas, you’re in for a treat. His style is such that the words and illustrations are equally appealing for children and adults. It looks like an apple. But is it a teeny weeny planet that landed on earth? Maybe it has feelings? Or is it a house that can be eaten? No – what if it’s a tiny alien! The publishers point to how Yoshitake uses critical thinking in the same way that primary schools are encouraging younger children to learn – but the joy of creative thought is so pervasive here that learning will definitely happen by osmosis. Pure delight.
