Skin Food
You know when you discover a product for the first time and wonder how you ever lived without it? This is ‘Skin Food’, a time-tested super-rich lotion which has been working its magic on rough skin since 1926. We now carry a handy 30ml tube in our bag at all times, to use on our kids’ hands when they get dry from running around in the cold, as well as our own problem areas (of which there are a few). The smell alone, derived from a combination of organic sunflower seed oil, extracts of wild pansy, chamomile, calendula and revitalising rosemary extract, is almost good enough to eat. (Though we wouldn’t recommend that.)

Renewing Rose Hydrating Body Gel
If the word ‘gel’ makes you think of adolescent hair-dos, think again. This incredibly light, non-tacky and seriously hydrating offering from Aromatherapy Associates combines rose, geranium, evening primrose and jojoba, and the result is a beautifully fragrant, incredibly revitalising product which feels like its bringing new life to tired skin. The range also includes a really lovely body oil, for when you want something a bit richer (or, indeed, a massage).

Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion
Officially for use on baby skin, this lotion from Burt’s Bees is too good not to use ourselves, too. Made from 98.8 per cent natural ingredients it contains buttermilk (as the name suggests), aloe vera and sunflower oil, as well as beeswax and coconut oil – with a touch of sweet orange which gives it the distinctly delicious fragrance. Perfect for use after shaving your legs (if you ever get round to it).
